India observes Republic day on 26th January every year as our country’s constitution came into effect on this day in the year 1950. We celebrate our liberty on this day and show our respect towards our country “INDIA“.

Also, we appreciate the efforts and sacrifices of our great freedom warriors. People from all religions in India admire it with lots of enjoyment, which is a sign of unity for Indians. All the people in India furnish their houses with the theme of national flags. Not only homes but government buildings also look attractive after a tricolour theme is applied to them. 

Schools arrange various types of celebrations and functions and spread sweets among students. We raise our national flag on republic day and show respect to it by saluting it. After that, we sing the national anthem.

A Look Into History

We all know that we got independence on 15th August 1947. Yet, we did not have any concrete constitution for our country. Our country was also lacking experts and political powers that could handle the proper functioning of state affairs. We realized the need for having an exclusive constitution that could establish a unique status.

After that, We drafted our constitution which took around 166 days to get completed. It was drafted with the help of Dr B. R. Ambedakar, Who is also known as the father of the Indian constitution. it is the longest written constitution found on earth.

What Does It Mean By Constitution?

The Constitution of India is the supreme law of India. The document lays down the framework defining fundamental political principles, structure, procedures, powers, and responsibilities of government organizations and sets out fundamental rights, directive principles, and the duties of citizens.

At last, We celebrate Republic day with great excitement and joy. Our constitution, the biggest in the world, serves its people equally by providing them equal rights irrespective of colour, caste and creed. We are proud of our constitution and its creators.

This day denotes the historic event when India got its exclusive constitution into effect in the year 1950. Republic day is a national holiday and the day is celebrated with flag hoisting, functions, and cultural events.

When India acquired freedom from the Britishers, it was lacking a rigid constitution and it also did not have any experts or political leaders that could handle the proper functioning of state affairs. That was the phase when India realised the need for a constitution. After that, the Indian constitution got created.

At last, our constitution, the biggest in the world, serves its people equally by providing them equal rights irrespective of colour, caste and creed. We are proud of our constitution and its creators. We should live together and love every countryman because Unity is our country’s Identity.
