3 Minute Speech On Blood Donation

First of all, good morning to the honourable principal, respected teachers and loving friends and all of you present here today. In your special presence, I would like to say a few words about blood donation.

Blood donation is a great act of kindness. It is a simple gesture of our responsibility towards society. Blood banks play a significant role in this process. They store donated blood, which is provided to patients in need. Unfortunately, blood banks are unable to make a balance between the demand and supply of blood.

This is because there is a lack of blood donors. Many people do not donate blood because of some rumours spread in society. The most popular rumour is that blood donation leads to weakness in the body, which can not be reversed. Yes! it is true that blood donation leads to weakness but it lasts for a short period.

Furthermore, people present several excuses to escape blood donations. Some of them are very funny. For instance; many people say that they don’t donate blood because of fear of needles. Is it a fair reason? Some people say I have a special blood group so I will donate when there is a special need.

To be precise, in this transactional world, people perceive blood donation as a deal of loss. This is because they do not know about the benefits of blood donation. Yes! you heard it right. Blood donation offers many physical and emotional benefits.

Have you ever noticed how you feel after helping someone in need? Very satisfying! Is not it? Blood donation will give you the unshakable satisfaction of doing something meaningful in life. You will feel the power of being a human. When you help a person in need, It can:

  • Provide a sense of satisfaction for helping someone
  • Provide a sense of belonging and reduce isolation
  • Reduce stress
  • Improve your emotional well-being
  • help get rid of negative feelings

Apart from this, many studies found that donating blood from time to time can reduce the risk of a heart attack. It is important to note that after blood donation, our bodies start building blood cells faster than normal. It impacts your body positively.

By donating blood once, a person can save the lives of up to three people. In addition to that, a person can donate blood thrice a year. Hence, if a person donates blood regularly, he can get a chance to help up to nine people in a year.

To sum it up, blood donation is an important process in saving lives. I want to request you all donate blood once a year if you are older than 17 and have good health. Plus, I want this practice to be encouraged everywhere so please help in spreading awareness.

Thank you for listening to me attentively. I hope my speech was helpful and added some value to the evolution of society.
