Greetings to everyone gathered here on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, I (your name) cordially welcome all of you to celebrate this momentous day along with us.

It is obvious today to talk about the father of the nation Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. He had a simple personality in his attire. He was born on 2nd October 1869 in Porbandar, Gujrat. I am here to describe his personality but the truth is that none of us can describe him completely.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was an Indian lawyer, politician, and anti-colonial nationalist. He fetches India’s freedom from British rule. Moreover, he was a social reformer who get us out of untouchability. His principle of the fight was non-violence, still, he got sequent successes in life.

Most noteworthy, despite a lot of hardships, he did never lose his self-confidence. He was such a rigid and exceptional personality. He will always be an inspiration for all of us.

Hello and welcome to all the people present here. Before I start my speech on this great personality, I would like to wish you, Happy Gandhi Jayanti. Also, I want to thank you for having me this valuable opportunity.

Indian history will always write the name of Mahatma Gandhi in golden texture. His greatness can’t be described using all the adjectives found in the dictionary. He was such a great person who not only impacted India but also abroad.

Being impacted by his personality United Nations General Assembly has marked his birth anniversary (2nd October) as the International Day of Non-Violence. This is because his way to take a stand for our rights was non-violent.

Undoubtedly, Each Indian knows about him if not, we can conclude that person not to be an Indian. He lived a hard life that we can’t even imagine living. He was also a great leader. If he were alive, I would be his follower but unfortunately, we can only follow their teachings now.

He taught us how to fight for our rights, how to live a life, and to be kind to others not only to humans but to animals.

October 2 is a national holiday in India but people across the country and the globe celebrate the occasion by participating in functions, theatres, community services, etc. Schools and educational institutions hold activities like essay-writing, art and poetry competitions to honour this great personality who left no one unimpacted.

In 1893 when he was in South Africa, he had to suffer discrimination due to his heritage and skin colour. He was not allowed to sit with European passengers on the train. He was ordered to sit on the floor and then beaten when he refused. He fought there against the British for the violation of dark-coloured Asians and became successful.

Mahatma Gandhi played crucial roles in major protest movements like Dandi March, Quit India Movement, and Non-Cooperation Movement that promoted India to get its freedom from British rule. Millions of people used Gandhi’s ideologies of non-violence and peace.

He worked tirelessly to eliminate the system of untouchability which was very widespread back then. Furthermore, he also empowered women and worked to improve the economic condition of Indian farmers in addition to much more.

Even if Mahatma Gandhi did not like politics, his name is counted as one of his most renowned political figures. This is because he had to descend into politics for public welfare. Most noteworthy, despite a lot of hardships, he did never lose his self-confidence.
