Reputable Principal, respected teachers and my dear friends! First of all, I would like to welcome all of you and also thank you all for having me a chance to deliver a speech on gratitude.

Gratitude” refers to the attitude of appreciation and thankfulness for the good that we receive in life. It is not just a word. It has invisible powers which can change the way you look at life. One of my favourite quotes on gratitude will portray the importance of gratitude in one’s life. The quote is;

“It costs you nothing but makes you so rich. It takes nothing away from anyone else but gives you so much power.”

Yes! This is very true. Once you start practising gratitude in life, you observe how rich you are. You start feeling happy and calm. Life becomes full of colours. You enjoy every event of life. You also develop a sense of optimism in you.

What do you think? Doesn’t it make you rich without costing a penny? The experiences you receive in return for gratitude can not be bought by spending loads of money. It has several benefits which will enrich each aspect of your life be it health, wealth, social status and relationships etc.

Nowadays, doctors advise depressed patients to practice gratitude. Most importantly, science has proved that practising gratitude drives a person to be happier and more relaxed. There are many ways to practice gratitude. 3 of these are;

Gratitude has several benefits which will enrich each aspect of your life be it health, wealth, social status or relationships etc. let’s talk about some of the benefits of gratitude.

First of all, When we start thanking every event of life, we thank and appreciate others’ efforts. This way we strengthen our relationships with people and enhance the trust factor and feeling of respect and love. People reciprocate the same and thus we can build a good community.

Second, gratitude fills our life with joy because it reduces stress. Third, We stop comparing ourselves with others. Fourth, we acknowledge our achievements which we sometimes ignore.

The list is very long. All in all, it has countless benefits we can take advantage of. Let’s see what are the ways to practise gratitude in life. Some of the most effective ones include making a note of every good thing which happens to us every day.

Moreover, always make sure to appreciate everything in life which makes life easier be it nature, animals or people. All of them hold great importance in life. Apart from this, one can maintain a gratitude journal which is used to write about positive events and the reason behind them with a feeling of thankfulness.
