I cordially welcome all of you gathered here. I am here to let you aware of the danger of cyber crimes. Before I start my speech, I would like to wish you a good day. Also, I want to thank you for having me this valuable opportunity.

“Change is the only constant”. You must have listened to this saying many times in your life. With time, everything changes. Similarly, the nature of crime has also changed. Today, crime has a new face called cyber crime which is increasing all over the world.

Earlier, crimes used to take place through physical interaction while cyber crimes are performed through digital interaction. The digital devices we use such as mobile phones, desktops, laptops, tablets etc become prey to cyber crimes. This is why we must pay close attention to our devices.

As we know, our digital devices store information such as our name, contact details, bank details, private photos & videos, messages, chats, documents etc. These details must be private but cybercriminals use some techniques to steal this data.

They use the stolen data to exploit the person as much as possible. They can threaten you to leak your private photos and videos. They can ask to pay the ransom amount in exchange. Furthermore, using your bank details they can withdraw money without your permission.

Don’t worry! it is not so easy, people make it easy for them. Yes! you heard it right. The devices we use are designed with security in mind and they are improved periodically. Then how do cyber crimes take place? You might be thinking. Am I right?

Criminals throw a tempting offer at people and convince them to install a specific app or visit a website. In the case of an app, they ask you to allow the app for all the permission which fetches a lot of data such as OTPs. In the case of a website, they can transfer a virus to your device which can steal data.

Apart from this, carrying out cyber crimes have many other ways. The important thing is to discuss how you can escape cyber crimes. Here is a list you should follow;
