2 Minute Speech On Swami Vivekananda

Good Morning

Before heading ahead to my speech on Swami Vivekananda, I would like to wish you all the best wishes and also want to pay to thank you for having me this valuable opportunity.

Swami Vivekananda was one of the most popular Hindu monks and spiritual leaders of India who diffused the knowledge of Indian spiritual scriptures all over the world. He was born on 12 January 1863 into a Bengali family in Calcutta. His father Vishwanath Datta was an attorney at Calcutta high court and his mother Bhubaneswari Devi was a housewife.

His Guru Ramakrishna Paramhansa helped him attain spiritual enlightenment and told him that the service of Jiva (Living beings) is the service of God. Then he became a monk and devoted his life to the upliftment of humanity.

The teachings of his guru and Hinduism influenced him to an extent that he travelled all four directions to spread these teachings. He established the “Ramakrishna Mission” which provides spiritual training and service to the poor and economically weaker section. His spiritual training centres are spread all over the world. He also established “Ramakrishna Math” & “Belur Math”.

His best-known presence in the West is his speech at the World Religion Conference in Chicago in 1893. This speech made everyone emotional when he opened his speech by addressing the people as his sisters and brothers.

Swamiji breathed his last at Belur Math, West Bengal on the 4th of July, 1902. According to his disciples, Vivekananda attained mahasamādhi.

This is what I wanted to say. I hope you liked my words. Thank you!
